Egypt is one of the most significant nations in the Arab world, with a rich Christian heritage that stretches back to the early centuries of the Church. It is home to the Coptic Church, one of the oldest Christian traditions in the world, with a history traditionally tracing its origins to the ministry of the Apostle Mark.
At the same time, Egypt has a large Muslim population and remains an important centre of Sunni Islamic scholarship and influence. Evangelical and other Christian communities continue to serve and witness across the nation, while some believers face social pressure, discrimination, and persecution.
Egypt therefore carries both a profound Christian heritage and a significant Gospel need. We pray for the strengthening of the Church, the salvation of many who do not yet know Christ, and the continued advancement of the Gospel throughout the nation.

1. Pray for the Coptic and Evangelical Churches
Thank God for the resilience and faithfulness of Christian communities in Egypt throughout generations.
Pray that Egypt's rich Christian heritage will become a launching pad for renewed Gospel witness, discipleship, missions, and spiritual awakening across the nation and beyond.

2. Pray for Muslim-Background Believers
Pray for the continued growth and strengthening of people from Muslim backgrounds who are coming to faith in Christ.
Ask God to give them courage, wisdom, spiritual protection, and faithful Christian communities where they can grow in their knowledge of Christ and become effective witnesses to others.

3. Pray for Wisdom for Egyptian Church Leaders
Ask the Lord to grant Egyptian Christian leaders wisdom, discernment, courage, and grace as they serve the Church within a complex social and political environment.
Pray that they will know when to speak, when to remain patient, and how to represent Christ faithfully while serving their communities with humility and wisdom.

4. Pray for Digital Evangelism
Pray that digital platforms will become powerful avenues for Gospel communication throughout Egypt.
Ask God to use Arabic-language Scriptures, testimonies, Christian teaching, discipleship resources, and Gospel content to reach people who may never enter a church building.
May the message of Christ cross digital boundaries and reach hearts in homes, workplaces, universities, and communities across the nation.

5. Pray for Mission Opportunities for LWGLM and Partners
Ask God to open strategic doors for LWGLM and its partner organisations to serve in Egypt through church planting, leadership development, discipleship, training, humanitarian engagement, and Gospel witness.
Pray for divine connections with churches, leaders, organisations, and communities, and for wisdom to serve in ways that honour Christ and bless the people of Egypt.

We declare that the Church in Egypt will be strengthened and established.
May the Gospel reach communities that have not yet heard it, and may many encounter Jesus Christ through Scripture, faithful witness, digital evangelism, Christian communities, dreams, conversations, and divine encounters.
May Egypt experience seasons of spiritual awakening, renewed faith, courageous witness, and increasing Gospel influence. May the light of Christ shine throughout the nation, and may God's purposes for Egypt be fulfilled.
